Welcome to March

Ireland never had snakes to be banished,

But the one in our basement was famished,

Until many a mouse

Tried to enter our house,

Now thanks to the snake they have vanished.

Welcome to a new month of Voice of the River Valley and our annual celebration of limericks contributed by our readers. The gem above was shared by Charlanne FitzGerald, and you can enjoy more of her limericks as well as a selection by Michael Brandt, Pat Larson and Sharon Rowe here.

Elsewhere this month we’re pleased to feature the voices of Ellie Barta-Moran, Mary Friedel-Hunt, Doris Green, Andy Hatch, John Heasley, Sue Leamy-Kies and Erin Malone; photography by Dena Nechkash and Dustin Roberts; calendar listings; and more.

We’re grateful to this month’s contributors, advertisers and subscribers, and to our volunteer distributors  Joni and Rick, Joy, Linda, Mark, Nick and Rountree Gallery volunteers.

Whether you enjoy this month’s issue in print or online at voiceoftherivervalley.com, we wish you happy reading.
