“Blwyddyn Newydd Dda!” That is Welsh for “Eutychismenos o Kainourgios Chronos!”, which is Greek for “Zczesliwego Nowego Roku!”, which is Polish for Happy New Year! We’re excited to join you in a new rotation around the sun and we are optimistic for the promise of 2017.
In mid-December, we rolled out the first-ever Voice reader survey and are grateful for the scores of responses. If you haven’t yet taken the survey, you can find it through mid-January on our Facebook page. Here is some of the feedback that’s come in so far.
Your favorite aspects of Voice are our comprehensive Calendar of Events from many area communities; our exclusive columns on a variety of interesting topics by local people; and our profiles of regional people and organizations.
Some 81 percent of respondents have attended multiple events or activities that they learned about in the Calendar — and the vast majority (86 percent) who consulted the Calendar hoped to learn what is happening in other nearby towns. Nearly 70 percent of you shopped at an area business after reading their ad in Voice. This feedback and much more will guide refinements in the year ahead.
We are delighted to continue sharing the ideas of columnists Marnie Dresser, Mary Friedel-Hunt, John Heasley and Kathy Steffen — and in the months to come, you will find exciting new print and online content. We can’t wait to share this fresh year ahead.
Happy reading,
Sara Lomasz Flesch
