U.S. Dairy Forage Research Center: Update on FarmLab Research and Land Use Planning

February 21, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Please join us as we welcome Dr. Alison Duff, an ecologist at the Dairy Forage Research Center, as she discusses the development of a land use plan for the Prairie du Sac farm within the former Badger Army Ammunition Plant. The vision for the farm, or “FarmLab,” is a model production dairy system that advances dairy sustainability through integrated agroecosystem research and outreach. The planning process is intended to be dynamic, and informed by the mission of DFRC, the vision of the Badger Reuse Plan, the current and potential agroecological conditions of the site, and the input of research, land manager, and community collaborators. Alison will present the draft plan, answer questions, and collect community input during the program.

There is no charge for this program thanks in part to the generous financial support the Alliant Energy Foundation. Refreshments will also be provided.
