Live Music: Gandy Dancer Bluegrass Festival
August 21 @ 11:00 am - 8:30 pm$10 – $15
The Gandy Dancer Bluegrass Festival returns to the Dane County music festival scene. On Aug. 21, Mazomanie will host some of the hottest, most respected groups in bluegrass, folk and Americana music for this family-friendly one-day festival celebrating the village’s railway history.
This year we have five bluegrass bands that will take the stage on our newly constructed Performing Arts Pavilion designed by The School of Architecture at Taliesin for the Summer Immersion class in 2018.
Featured acts include Soggy Prairie, second-place winners in Madison Magazine’s Best of Madison-Bluegrass contest; Art Stevenson and High Water; a Wisconsin icon and favorite at the festival; The Kevin Prater Band, recognized by the Kentucky House of Representatives for their traditional bluegrass music; Liam Purcell and Cane Mill Road from Deep Gap, N.C., named Momentum Band of the Year by IBMA in 2019; and Meadow Mountain, a Denver-based traditional bluegrass quintet.
