LunART Festival is dedicated to promoting and celebrating women in the arts through public performances, exhibitions, workshops and interdisciplinary collaboration. After two very successful seasons, LunART is pleased to announce Season 2020 will take place in Madison June 3-7. While the main focus is a summer festival, LunART also presents events throughout the year, such as this collaborative concert and school outreach performances.
LunART Festival musicians will perform an array of works for strings, winds and piano from the past 200 years, highlighting both historically notable composers and less familiar pioneers of today. Featured artists include LunART director and founder Iva Ugrcic (flute), Satoko Hayami (piano), Allison Jerzak (piano), Yana Avedyan (piano), Marie Pauls (viola), Bethany Schultz (clarinet) and Stacy Fehr-Regehr (piano).
Poetry readings by Katrin Talbot and Hannah Adalance will round out the evening. Come and enjoy a visual art display by local artists Libby Dunn, Heather Harris, Caitlin Hatch, Esther Hill, Claire Johnston, Lilly Murn, Viola Murn, May Sorum and Katie White. Guests will be treated to refreshments and chocolates, crafted by Melissa Langholff of Sjolinds Chocolate House. Free-will offerings will be accepted. “The Woman is Powerful” will be a multifaceted artistic celebration not to be missed! Seating is limited, so reserve your space at lunartfestival.org.
