Brian — author, mixologist and co-owner of the Settle Down Tavern in Madison — will be on hand to sell and sign copies of his books for you!

Brian Bartels was raised in Reedsburg (The ‘Burg). He has been a writer and bartender his entire adult life. His last book, “The Bloody Mary,” was published in 2017 with Ten Speed Press and nominated for an IACP Award. His recent book, “The United States of Cocktails: Tales, Traditions and Recipes from Every State,” arrived in September 2020 with Abrams Publishing.
He’s been featured in Imbibe, Wine Enthusiast and The New York Times. His writing has appeared in Fiction Writers Review, PUNCH, Hobart, Vinepair and the Missouri Review. He is currently finishing up a new book about opening a restaurant in the middle of a global pandemic and writing a new novel, titled “Radio Road Heart.” He lives in Madison.
