Art Workshop: Infinity Beaded Pendant with Jill Erickson

Perfect for beginners! Instructor Jill Erickson teaches you how to make your own pendant with aluminum wire and fill it with a seed bead mosaic. You’ll learn tips and tricks to master a no-stitch, no-grout, no-hassle technique to create a striking design with beads in your choice of colors. Jill provides an overview of color theory and how to plan the placement of your colors to achieve an ombre color blend effect that evokes an urban-boho vibe. You’ll knot a supple, leather cord to create an adjustable necklace for your pendant. Alternately, you can choose to affix a silicone necklace, or a pin-back if you prefer to wear your creation as a brooch.

About the instructor: Jill L. Erickson makes studio jewelry that combines her predilection for natural history and story-telling with an enthusiasm for all manner of materials (metal, stone, horn, polymer, enamel and much more). Her MA and MFA degrees in drawing and painting provide the foundation for her explorations in jewelry making. Jill is a former associate editor of Art Jewelry magazine, and has over 20 years of experience teaching art workshops and classes for students of all ages.
